Congratulations goes out to:

  • My Sister on the birth of their little baby boy, if you missed the photos and story of the little guy, check them out here.
  • Annie & Aaron on the news of them expecting another little bubs, due in November, that’s great news guys!

Big shout out to Sarah Gammie for her 28th birthday this coming Sunday,
Hope you have a great day where ever you are these days Sarah, London?
Why don’t you wish her all the best Hodgeman. (if you know her…)

Joshua turned 6 months old yesterday, he’s such a cool little guy.
We are really enjoying parenthood, he brings huge smiles to our faces every day.
Both his bottom front teeth are through and one of his pointy top teeth, and now one of his top middle teeth have broken through. I’ve put up three new photos of Joshua for this week, one with an enlargement which you can click on to see the full size image.

Nice, short and sweet today, have a fantastic weekend everyone.

Update 20th April ’07

Hope you’ve had an enjoyable week.
Hasn’t the weather been nice, I’ve been enjoying walking to work every day while catching up on some episodes of Nobody Likes Onions and BoagWorld podcasts.

I’d like to give a big shout out to Lee Rattray this morning on his 36th birthday.
Happy Birthday Lee, hope your family spoil you rotten and you have a fantastic weekend.
Hope you received our little something something.

Joshua is now 5 months, 3 weeks and 4 days old today.
I’ve added another couple of photos to his album and created another short video for you all to enjoy this week. You can always subscribe to the video podcast and get the latest video instantly via iTunes when I post a new one.

Got the Heat Transfer unit last weekend, and got the inlet and all the outlet holes cut, just need to connect the ducting and then we’ll get an electrician to wire the beast up next week. It’s quite tricky as I can only get in the roof while Joshua is awake as it’s right above his room.

Kim and I are thinking of my sister during her pregnancy, she is now 2 weeks overdue, which is were Kim was at with Joshua when she was induced. Christine is hoping for a home birth, but if her Midwife induces her she may need to go to the hospital. Anyways, in the next 48 hours we should have our first HODGE neice or nephew (as even Christine doesn’t know what she’s having).
So we are all very excited for Christine and Staf and wish them all the best.
Mum and Dad are up from the west coast staying with them and we are feeling for them too, as they came up for Joshua’s birth and as he was two weeks late, they only got a couple of days with him before they had to return to the motels. It seams like fate has dealt them a similar hand for their second grand childs birth as they leave Christine’s this Sunday to return home.

Well that about wraps up this weeks news.

Update 13th April ’07

I hope you had a terrific easter and ate loads of hot cross buns and chocolate.

If you haven’t seen already, we took a photo of Joshua for the easter season, you can view it here.
I’m working on some new footage of Joshua, so I hope to have another video available soon.

Joshua is 5 Months, 2 Weeks and 4 days old today.
You can check how old Joshua is at any stage by checking out the “How Old is Joshua Ethan Hodge” blog post. He is starting to cut his top teeth, but strangely enough, not the middle two, but the sharp pointy ones either side. So we are going through heaps of bibs and outfits as he dribbles all over them.
Mental note: buy more bibs…
We have an outfit which we think is cursed, as every time he has worn it, he has had a power chuck on them.

We had a nice long weekend, and Mum and Dad came to visit on Monday, so I took Tuesday and Wednesday off to spend time with them while they were here (6 day weekend!!). My parents are in the North Island at the moment as my sister Christine is now 1 week overdue with her first child. She doesn’t know what it is going to be, so we are extremely excited for her and want to wish her all the best for the birth and the amazing months she has ahead of her.

Our wood shed is completely full now, and we are beginning to burn some wood on these cold days.
We are investing in a 3 room heat transfer kit this weekend to better move the heat around the house from our fireplace, should be a piece of cake to install…. Jason has lent me his jigsaw and everything, so I can cut holes in the roof, Kim is very concerned. Stay tuned for updates.

Hey Rattray’s! – don’t forget, it’s Lee’s birthday next Friday.

Great to see Rove back on TV 3 friday nights again, so as Rove says…
“Say Hi to your mum for me.”

Ciao

Update 23rd Mar ’07

Didn’t the week start out rubbish, now it’s fine and clear.

Well I can say with all honesty, that I’ve been a busy wee boy over the past week (by my standards)

Last weekend Daniel Pene (old school friend) came up to Rotorua for the weekend with his girlfriend Sam to catch up with her friend. Dan booked a white water rafting trip on the Kaituna River.
Man it was awesome, you can read my story about it here and view photos from the experience here.

Joshua is now 148 days old or 4 months 25 days, I’ve added only one new photo of Joshua this week.
Playing around with the saturation of the colour, I desaturated the whole photo, then coloured in just Joshua, something a bit different.

I borrowed a friends ute on Sunday and got two loads of wood over Monday and Tuesday nights this week, so I’ve got a whole heap of wood to split and stack, lucky I don’t have too much else planned for the weekend other than a bit of web design.

My next website project I’m designing is a site for the Body Talk Association of New Zealand, I’ve made a draft layout to complement their brochure. Check out the progress at www.hodgeman.co.nz/web/bodytalk.

Kim’s been busy too with J-dog this week, we are so blessed with our little guy, we are enjoying parenting soooo much, he’s just awesome. He started solids this week and has got the hang of eating off a spoon, Kim is going to have a cook up in the weekend and make a batch of our own baby food to freeze down into ice cube portions.

Thats about it for this weeks update, enjoy this weeks funnies Hodgeman, and have a fantastic weekend!

Update 2nd Mar ’07

Wellity Wellity Wellity

Happy birthday to our sister in law, Jane, who is celebrating her 30 something birthday today.
Hope you have a fantastic day, and Jason spoils you rotten.

My lovely wife celebrated her birthday on Tuesday this week, she was stoked to receive her first “Happy Birthday Mommy” card and present from Joshua.
I had her come into work to drop Joshua off and presented her with a Road Block (The Amazing Race), in which she had to find the Royal Lakeside Novotel and get a facial and eye treatment, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
She then went home, were she had gifts and cards waiting from friends and family (thank you all) and then her flowers arrived. Gerberas and Calla Lillies, her favourite and our wedding day flower.
After work we went out to dinner with my work as one of our developers was leaving for a job in Auckland.
So, it was a very busy day for Kim on her birthday.

Just yesterday, she had a coffee group meeting at Plunket with 8 other mothers.
She’s getting very confident talking Joshua out and about.

Speaking of Joshie…
He is now 127 days old today, or 18 weeks, 1 days old.
One new photo of Joshua this week, chugging a beer! ;)

I’ve created a new video of Joshua in the videos section
This weeks episode is titled “Bubblelicious” and it’s at the bottom of the scrolling thumbnails.
If your unsure, there is a guide on how to operate the video player, just click on the words above the player
“Show Video Gallery Howto Guide”

Otherwise, that’s all from me this week.
Hope you all have a terrific weekend, and enjoy the best of it while you can.
Enjoy this weeks funnies

Ciao everyone
